Due to the Partnership - you can now link your Linkedin Status to your Twitter account. This will allow you to get more exposure to your candidates and to the general public. In my experience, more people check their twitter account and stay on twitter longer then on linkedin. You also can connect your… Continue

Looking for a Job? Do you have a plan?

People are referred to me all of the time. Whether they are in my specialty I recruit for or not, it is important, to me to try and help them out as much as I can. As stated in an earlier posting, "Recruiters offer hope". The one main message I try to share and give is to let candidates know - they need a plan.

What kind of plan do I need, you may ask - well a job searching plan. A good example of this plan is here on…

The Power of Networking

Why don’t more people Network? It boggles my mind, especially in this type of economy - it is not who applies to the job first, BUT who you know and who knows who. If a company has a job opening, do you think they will post it first OR ask for referrals and see who may know someone? Networking is simple. It is staying in touch. It is asking questions to the experts and answering questions. Most people I have found and was able to hire for my openings, were not from my first conversation but… Continue

Recruiters offer HOPE...

Recruiters need to remember the one thing they offer candidates, is HOPE. I recently participated in the Columbus NBC4, HR Hotline, along with Buckeye Resumes (A Job Search and Resume Coach) and the Ohio Job and Family Services Dept.. We were there to help fellow Ohioians search for work, use internet tools, give tips and suggestions. I had many conversations, with different individuals - all looking for one thing - HOPE. And after each conversation the individual was truly… Continue

Hi Bruce-
I'm well thank you. How have you been? Yes, I'm still at BMW. I was hired on a full time Recruiter after my stint as the account liasion for Dawson. I've been in the role almost 4 years now and still really enjoy it.

Bruce, Thanks for the tip below about joining the Group - Columbus Corporate Recruiters, I just requested access to this group. I am surprised that I haven't received any feedback per my question about French-Canadian speaking Customer service Reps in the Columbus area. Makes me nervous that I'll be asked to staff this specific group here in Ohio & I do not have any candidates.
Thanks Bruce-JD
